1. Les Trois Vallées in France

With 607km of slopes and beautiful places like Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel, St Martin de Belleville, Courchevel and La Tania, Les Trois Vallees not only the largest but also one of the most popular and most expensive ski areas. 2. Portes du Soleil, France and Switzerland

Slightly less high (almost 2500m), but almost as big as Les Trois Vallees, the Portes du Soleil area. With 580km of slopes, it is still one of the largest areas of the world. With pretty nice places like Chatel, Morzine, Morgins and Champéry, but also some newer Avoriaz, there are plenty of opportunities for a wonderful vacation. 3. Aspen Snowmass, USA

Less well known in Europe, but incredibly beautiful because of the beautiful powder snow Aspen Snowmass is a good third. The area includes almost 500km of pistes. For those who want something different than the Alps. With slopes up to 3600m altitude is one of the higher resorts in the world.

 

6. Evasion - Mont Blanc, France

Ca. 450km of slopes put Evasion Mont Blanc in the sixth. The area is particularly known by the chic Megeve, but also Combloux, Saint Gervais and Les Contamines make it an attractive ski and great for a family vacation. Slightly less high (up to 2350m) than most major areas.

 

7. Paradiski, France

Approximately 425 km of ski slopes give Paradiski seventh place in the top ten. Popularized by high-lying places like La Plagne and Arc 2000 chalet excels not by architecture but by snow conditions and skiing.

 

8. Les Quatre Vallees, Switzerland

With famous places like Verbier, Nendaz and Veysonnaz, as well as La Tzoumaz, Les Collons and Thyon 2000, this is a popular area with the British Royal family. The area offers something for everyone and offers incredible off piste opportunities with Chassoure, Tortin, Mont gelee and Vallon d'Arbi. The Mont Fort highest mountain is the area up to 330m high.

 

9. Via Lattea, Italy

Less known, but no less loved by connoisseurs, Via Lattea with villages of Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx Montgenevre. The area goes up to 2800m high and offers 400km of ski slopes. Via Lattea has lots of great and not too difficult slopes. Especially in Montgenèvre denotes good with nice blue and green runs. Black slopes can be found especially in the Col d'Alpet.

 

10. Breuil-Cervinia, Italy

By merging two areas Breuil-Cervinia will also take part in the list of larger areas. Incidentally, Zermatt and St. Moritz, both in Switzerland, an almost similar number of kilometers of slopes. Of the three Zermatt is the highest, at nearly 3900m. The chalet prices in this area will show its popularity.
