Morzine (altitude 1000m) lies in the large Portes du Soleil area, with more than 600 kliometer ski runs and a highest altitude of nearly 2,500 meters. It is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. Morzine consists of chalets scattered across a valley with wooded slopes, allowing skiing in bad weather due to the shelter provided by the trees.
